Artist's Statement: On the Monster Girls Series

This series asks a simple, complex question: What if our deepest wounds were also our most compelling features?

"Monster Girls" is my exploration of this idea. Through the medium of traditional acrylics, I create characters that embody the paradox of existence—where cuteness and mortality, beauty and decay, exist in a delicate, powerful balance. These works are my method of visual storytelling, focusing on themes of self-acceptance and enlightenment.

The "monster" is not a villain; she is a symbol of unacknowledged truth. Her awakening is a clarion call for healing. By painting these figures with empathy and a pop-surrealist edge, I aim to create a mirror for the viewer, inviting a moment of clarity and the recognition that within our own strange and beautiful imperfections lies our true strength.

This series is for anyone who has ever felt "other" and is ready to see that otherness as a source of power.
